What Is Pool Leak Repair?

Pool leak repair is the process of stopping water loss from a pool, spa, or water feature by addressing the actual source of the leak. Repairs vary widely depending on the leak type: structural repairs, plumbing repairs, equipment repairs, and fitting repairs. A proper repair must be preceded by accurate detection to identify exactly what needs fixing. Pool leaks don't follow a standard template.

FAQs

  • Can you repair my pool without draining it?

In most cases, yes. Structural cracks and plumbing ruptures can be repaired with the pool full or partially lowered. Some fitting and light repairs may benefit from the pool being lowered to that specific level. A full drain is rarely necessary for repair. Your technician will advise on water level requirements during the repair planning stage.

  • What kind of warranty do you offer on pool repairs?

We provide a warranty on labour and materials for 12 months from completion. If the repair fails during that period due to poor workmanship or faulty materials on our side, we return and re-repair at no charge. Some structural repairs may have longer warranties depending on the method and materials used — we’ll detail this in your completion report.

  • How long does a pool repair take?

It depends on the leak type and repair scope. A simple crack seal might take 2–4 hours. A plumbing line replacement could take a full day or more if excavation is required. We'll give you a timeline estimate before starting so you know what to expect.

  • Will the repair affect my pool's chemical balance?

Most repairs won't significantly affect chemistry. If we drain a section or add sealant, some chlorine may escape and you may need to re-balance slightly — we'll advise on this before starting. For safety, you should retest your pool chemistry after any structural work, but this is routine pool maintenance, not a major disruption.

  • What if there are multiple leaks?

It happens, especially in older pools. During detection, we identify all leak points. We can repair them all at once or prioritise the worst first. Repairing them all together is usually more efficient and cost-effective than multiple return visits.
