Property Maintenance
Preventative Leak Checks Every Property Owner Should Do
A few regular checks can reveal early leak warning signs around a property. Keep the routine simple, repeatable, and easy to document.
Build a Monthly Routine
Choose one day each month to check the meter, taps, toilets, visible pipes, irrigation, pool equipment, and hot water overflow. A consistent routine makes changes easier to spot.
Use the Water Meter
The meter is often the fastest way to spot hidden flow. Turn off fixtures, record the reading, wait 15 minutes, and check again. Movement deserves investigation.
Document What You Find
Photos, dates, meter readings, and notes help plumbers and insurers understand what changed. For strata and commercial properties, the same records support clearer maintenance decisions.
