Pool & Spa Questions

  • How do I know if my pool is leaking or just evaporating?

The bucket test is a simple first check. Fill a bucket with pool water, place it on the pool steps, and mark the water level on both sides of the bucket. Wait 24 hours. If the pool drops more than the bucket from inside, the pool is losing water from a leak rather than evaporation. Pool surface area, weather, and temperature affect evaporation rates so normal evaporation alone is usually 1cm to 3cm per week. Larger losses or pool drop in 24 hours of normal evaporation, except in extreme heat or with a non-pool surface profound loss probably indicates a leak.

Will you need to drain my pool?

  • Can you detect leaks in fibreglass, concrete, and vinyl pools?

Not sure what type of leak you have? That's exactly why we exist.

You don't need to know whether it's in the wall, underground, or under your slab. Just tell us what you've noticed, and ALD will take it from there.
